Just Cute Bears ~ A sketch

A Sketch by the talented Bev
I do love a good sketch to follow makes life so much easier don't you think? I have used my LOTV stamp 'Born To Shop', i have tried different colours with my bear this time (Thanks Sarah x) so she doesn't look anemic more like a cuddly brown bear lol... I have still managed to use my prisma pencils in the shading. The papers are from a pack i bought at the Port Sunlight show just loved the pastel shades in these, they are 'Polka Dot' pack from wild Rose studio. I have also used my Tim Holtz flourishes die for a little bits of embellishment and because its new and i needed to try it out ;)
I hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather we are having at the minute? It certainly makes a pleasant change, as I'm off next wee I'm hoping there is more of it to come :) We will be having a BBQ today, so no cooking for me yippeeee.

Just Cute Bears ~ Recipe 3-2-1

Our challenge this week is a Recipe. We would like to see your creations using the following recipe.
Recipe ~ 3 Brads, 2 Papers and 1 Ribbon
I have used one of my new stamps from LOTV, he is called 'Pride and Joy' i admit to struggling colouring this lil fella in, I need more practice i think ...he has been coloured in with a combination of Copics and Promarkers then some shading with prismas. The designer papers are from SU! as are the brad and ribbon. The greeting is a Hobby Art stamp, it has been stamped with chocolate chip ink form SU!

Oh well at least i have another male card for my box, which i still haven't taken into work lol... I'm never going to sell any if they are sat at home am i???

I hope the weather has been good to you this weekend, i imagine a lot of you will be out in your gardens. Well they say summer is well on its way next week, we will have to wait and see.

Someone Special

I made this card for a very special friend, who has always been there for me. I used the very cute FF bears, coloured with Promarkers. The very lovely papers are from Cuddly Buddly, they are from the Patchwork collection in pink, Kim has just released a mens range in these which are fabulous. The punches for the flowers are EK retro, the leaf is a Quickutz die. The round greeting is from Craftwork cards, pearls from stash.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, hopefully the weather will be as predicted as we are off to a BBQ tomorrow for my friends 60th Birthday.

Multi Fold Card

Multi Fold Card

The challenge this week at Just Cute Bears is to make a multi fold card.
The design team have come up with some great ideas so don't forget to
pop along a take a look. I'm really looking forward to visiting your blogs
this week to see what you come up with....

I did wonder what i could do for this weeks challenge as always seem to stick to the same square cards. Anyway i decided to go with a Spring card, having never made one before I had to do a little bit of research and found a great tut on You Tube, i have to say it was quite easy to make.

The card is Burgundy and the papers are yellow, a strange colour combo but it seems to work lol... the papers are from my SU! collection. The lovely little bear is from Arts 4 Crafts, i forgot i had these lovely images on my PC (shame on me), they come in very handy for a quick card. The greeting is from the oval greeting set from SU, oval punches also SU. The flowers are made with Nellies punch and EK small daisy punch, leaves are MS.

I Won a Competition

Today i have been to the Happy Stampers North West show in Port Sunlight, which is held twice a year in March and October. Its a very small show compared to the likes of the NEC but still attracts some good exhibitors, like Barbara from Clarity stamps, Lavina stamps etc. I thought i would enter their card competition this year which was 'Spring Wedding', above is my entry you can image my surprise when i was announced as one of the winners :) I won a bag of goodies with all kinds of bits and bobs in, mostly stamps.

Anyway on to my card- I made the background with my Stampin Up Mr & Mrs set, then cut some out to add as an embellishment. The image stamp is from Lili Of The Valley, i do love this cute Bride and Groom they are so sweet. I coloured them in with my Copics, added some glamour dust to the dress and flowers.

Well tomorrow is the Just Cute Bears challenge so don't forget to pop back tomorrow to see what we have all been up to this week :) Lets just say its a first for me lol.....

A Big 75th Birthday

I was asked by a colleague in work if i could make a card for a 75th Birthday as she was finding it difficult to find a card. I always worry when asked to make a card that they will like it and that i will get it right, I'm sure we are all the same? This card is a massive 8x8 card, so takes a great deal of filling but I think it makes it that bit more special. The papers are from the SU designer paper range, they always contrast so well. The main image is a decoupage i had in my collection, been ages since i have used my snips and silicone glue lol...The greetings have been printed on the PC, ovals cut out with oval SU punches. I think she was pleased with the card, although haven't seen her as yet lol.... but i did get some feed back from the staff in work :) Now does anyone know where i can get some good quality 8x8 cards and envelopes from ?

Just Cute Bears ~ 'Buttons and Bows'

Buttons & Bows

This week over at Just Cute Bears we would like to see some buttons and bows on your cards as well as a lovely cute bear. I have been very busy this week so apologise if i haven't got around to visiting your blog, i will make more time this week. We have the very talented Bev as our guess designer for the next month, so don't forget to pop over and check out the fabulous cards the girls have made.

This week one of my friends is expecting her first grand child, she is very excited as is her daughter. They have no idea what she is having as wanted it to be a total surprise, which is nice. So i have made a baby card for my challenge card this week, now why did i go with blue !!? I have to say i do think she is having a boy, but best get a pink one made just in case lol..
I have used the cute bear from Elyzbell stamps coloured with Promarkers and Prisma pencils as i'm useless at shading with my copics :( The little buttons are from the Papermania range, i bought pink, blue and purple in these when i went to the NEC they are just the right size for baby cards. The papers are from the SU Designer series papers in blue, this has to be my favourite set of papers for baby cards.

I hope you all have a lovely Bank holiday weekend, make the most of that extra day off work if your lucky enough to have the day off, sadly i have to work this one .
